Two residential hospices in Nipissing will get $271,600 in additional one-time provincial funding for nursing, personal support, and other services delivered to patients. This funding is intended to support and sustain existing residential hospice capacity, through an increased operational funding rate for ministry-approved and open beds.

The funding breakdown is as follows:

Nipissing Serenity Hospice – $236,500 – a 45 per cent top-up increase from base funding. Total 2022-23 funding: $1,286,500

Mattawa Hospital – $35,100 – a 67 per cent top-up increase from base funding. Total 2022-23 funding: $140,100

“This investment will help local patients receive the respect, dignity and care they deserve at every stage of their lives, while ensuring Nipissing Serenity Hospice and the Mattawa Hospital have the tools they need to continue to provide high-quality care," said MPP Vic Fedeli.
