An exhibition of black and white photography portraying life in Powassan in the 1970's chronicles a socially significant era in Ontario's history, reflective of the growing counterculture in North America at the time.

Toronto-based artist Victor Helfand relocated North to Powassan in his 20's and, like many young people at the time, was searching for an alternative lifestyle. This exhibition presents the images and lifestyle of Helfand's friends, their children, and a local family whose portraits record a particular place and time.

The exhibition runs at W.K.P. Kennedy Gallery from January 6 - March 4, 2017. The opening reception will take place on Friday, January 6th from 6-9pm. The artist will be present.
