Powassan Home Hardware opening

'We have a four-year to five-year plan where we’re going to put shovels in the ground, hopefully in two years, to start building something big, something impressive, something that will truly help the community and build it, and grow it as much as we possibly can'

Powassan Home Hardware Building and Design Centre has officially opened at 42 Memorial Park Drive.

Co-owner Mike Morrow told CKAT they have been busy renovating the former Castle Building Centre since they took possession a couple of months ago.

“It wasn’t until probably November we heard the previous owners of Castle were looking to retire and it was an opportunity we just didn’t want to miss out on, we jumped on it right away and the closing date was the beginning of March,” he says.

Morrow says the vision for the future is to combine their Main Street Home Hardware with the new building and design centre.

“We have a four-year to five-year plan where we’re going to put shovels in the ground, hopefully in two years, to start building something big, something impressive, something that will truly help the community and build it, and grow it as much as we possibly can,” he says.

Morrow says they started the hardware store about six years ago.
