Update Hit by train, Police want help in animal cruelty case

Update:

On August 30, 2018, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were asking for assistance in regards to a possible animal cruelty case that occurred on Village Road in Serpent River First Nation, Ontario on August 24, 2018.

After further investigation, it was confirmed that the dog was struck by a train and died as a result.  

Police thank those who assisted which helped give closure to the dog owner.

East Algoma OPP are asking for help in regards to an animal cruelty case that occurred on Village Road in Serpent River First Nation on August 24.

A man reported that his black lab dog had gone missing a few days prior. It was later found dead with what looked to be gun-shot wounds.             

Any person with information regarding the person responsible for this incident should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
