The Nipissing Detachment of the Anishinabek Police Service is searching for the rightful owner of a large quantity of scrap aluminum its members recently seized (see photos above).
Police believe the theft occurred January 15, possibly from a business in the Main Street West area of North Bay. While conducting an investigation into the theft of a snowmobile, the APS officers recovered an estimated 500 pounds of scrap aluminum. APS is asking business owners to check their bins to see if they are missing such a large amount. APS has photos of the recovered scrap.
APS says a male is currently in custody on other charges but the scrap aluminum matter remains under investigation.
