Police search for owner of hundreds of pounds of scrap aluminum

The Nipissing Detachment of the Anishinabek Police Service is searching for the owner of this recovered scrap aluminum.

The Nipissing Detachment of the Anishinabek Police Service is searching for the rightful owner of a large quantity of scrap aluminum its members recently seized (see photos above).

Police believe the theft occurred January 15, possibly from a business in the Main Street West area of North Bay. While conducting an investigation into the theft of a snowmobile, the APS officers recovered an estimated 500 pounds of scrap aluminum. APS is asking business owners to check their bins to see if they are missing such a large amount. APS has photos of the recovered scrap.

APS says a male is currently in custody on other charges but the scrap aluminum matter remains under investigation.
