A chase from Latchford to Temgami ended Saturday morning when police blocked the fleeing vehicle in a parking lot.
On August 7, shortly after 9:45 a.m., Temiskaming OPP were on patrol in Latchford when a speeding vehicle was spotted heading south on Highway 11.
Police tried to stop the vehicle but the driver evaded police. The driver stopped at a parking lot in Temagami and the vehicle was blocked by police.
A 38-year-old resident of Thornhill, was arrested and charged with:
- Race a motor vehicle - stunt
- Fail to stop for police
The accused was released by way of a Summons and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 9 in Temiskaming Shores.
The OPP is also reminding the public, that when you see an emergency vehicle with its lights on, please pull over to the right shoulder, as soon as possible, and where it is safe to do so.
