Plastic grill stolen from car

Thieves removed the front plate and plastic grill, the rain gutters around the window and the valve stems for all four tires had been cut.

On Sunday November 29, 2015 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated damage done to a vehicle parked near Algonquin Park on Forestry Tower Road. 

Sometime between Friday November 27, 2015 and Saturday November 28, 2015 unknown person(s) damaged the vehicle by removing the front plate and plastic grill, the rain gutters around the window and the valve stems for all four tires had been cut.  Suspect(s) also stole three backpacks containing clothing and three helmets for All Terrain vehicles from inside the vehicle.

Police are continuing to investigate and any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.

Meanwhile police are investigating a break enter and theft to a Strong Township business that occurred sometime over the past year.

Unknown person(s) entered two sheds located on the business property and stole a 4900 watt BE Generator, 10 – five gallon containers of hydraulic torque converter fluid and two forced air heaters. The approximate value of the stolen items is $6,200.

Police are continuing to investigate and any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.

The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has completed the first week of the Festive R.I.D.E. program (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere).  During this time, officers checked approximately 520 vehicles in the Almaguin Highlands area and charged one driver for driving while under suspension.  The North East Region Snow machine, All-Terrain Vehicle and Vessels Enforcement Unit (S.A.V.E) charged one drivers/passenger for failing to wear their seatbelt, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Officers also issued one driver a three day driver’s licence suspension after registering a "warn" on the road side screening device.
