Plaid Shirt fundraiser in memory of former North Bay student

He believed that change begins with positive thinking, communication and being socially brave enough to lend a hand to your neighbour

In October 2009 Nick Klassen of North Bay died suddenly from complications due to the H1N1 virus.

He was 23 years old.

Nick grew up in North Bay and was a graduate of West Ferris Secondary School. He believed that change begins with positive thinking, communication and being socially brave enough to lend a hand to your neighbour. In recognition of this, Plaid Shirt Society (made up of friends and family) hosts an annual fundraiser for not-for-profit organizations that place emphasis on building strong communities and pushing the boundaries of social awareness and involvement.
