Perry township man arrested for threatening

(BURK’S FALLS, ON) On Sunday, January 11, 2015 at approximately 3:00 p.m., members of the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment investigated allegations of threat made to a person who was at a public function in Burks Falls.

As a result, police obtained a warrant, arrested and charged Gary NICHOLS, 56, of Perry Township with Utter Threats and Cause Disturbance, contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, January 22, 2015 in Sundridge, Ontario.

                           TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG SEIZURE

(PERRY TWP, ON) On Monday January 5, 2015 at approximately 11:15p.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 518 west.  After speaking to the driver, the OPP officer arrested the driver for possession of a controlled substance.

The driver, Wilfred DORION, 53 of Perry Township was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marihuana, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday February 12, 2015 in Sundridge Ontario.

       MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION LEADS POLICE TO ARREST
                       DRIVER FOR IMPARED OPERATION

(PERRY TWP, ON) On Wednesday January 7, 2015 at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a single vehicle collision in the southbound lanes on Highway 11, Perry Township.  OPP arrived and observed a Ford F150 in the centre median.  Police spoke to the driver and subsequently arrested and charged him for having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused, Mark GALAWRAY, 53 of McMurrich/Monteith Township was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday February 12, 2015, in Sundridge Ontario.
