Pedestrian facing drug charges

On April 6, shortly before 1 p.m., members of the Temiskaming OPP stopped a pedestrian that was acting suspiciously on Highway 11B, Coleman Township.

Further investigation revealed that the pedestrian was in possession of suspected methamphetamine pills and opioids. The man was arrested and the pills were seized.

Guy Aumont, 44, of Cobalt, is charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine, 
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - opioid (other than heroin), and
  • Fail to comply with a probation order.

Aumont was held for bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 8 in Haileybury.
