Outstanding warrants results in arrest of Mattawa man

On April 12, an officer from Mattawa OPP was on patrol on Highway 17 in Calvin Township. 

The officer recognized the driver of a vehicle to be someone who had outstanding arrest warrants with the North Bay OPP.   

The officer stopped the vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver on the outstanding warrants.  

After a police investigation, Jody LaFleur, 49, of Mattawa, was charged with:

  • Driving While Under Suspension
  • Permit Use of Validation Not Furnished for Vehicle
  • Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner and
  • Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway - No Insurance

He was released on an Appearance Notice for the outstanding criminal charges and Part III Summons' for the provincial offences to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Mattawa, Ontario, on May 4.
