(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On September 18, 2015 members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling Bowes Street in Parry Sound. Police observed a vehicle running and the lights on in a back lane. Investigation revealed that a male was sitting in the driver’s seat and appeared to be asleep. The driver was woken up and he placed his foot on the accelerator and revved the engine. Police determined that the driver had consumed alcohol.
The driver, Michael RAMSAY, 29 years of age from Parry Sound was arrested and charged with:
· Care and Control over 80 milligrams (mgs) contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on October 15, 2015 to answer to his charges.
The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
