OPP charge 42nd impaired driver

The driver was arrested for impaired driving and brought to the North Bay OPP for testing

On September 16, at 8:40 p.m., officers from the North Bay Detachment of the OPP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 11 in Powassan. 

The driver was arrested for impaired driving and brought to the North Bay OPP for testing.   

As a result of a police investigation, Lori Newdick, 51, of North Bay, is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
  • Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor
  • Speeding

Newdick was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court in North Bay on October 1.  

She was also issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.  

These charges mark 42 drivers charged under Criminal Impaired Driving Laws in the North Bay Detachment area in 2019.
