The Ontario Provincial Police have charged a North Bay man with impaired charges after a RIDE program.
The OPP was conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) in the City of North Bay when a vehicle approached with a flat tire on July 28 around 12:30 a.m.
OPP say after speaking with the driver, police detected an odour of alcohol. The driver provided a sample of breath into the roadside screening device and registered a fail. The driver was brought to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result of police investigation, Trevor Miller, age 27, of North Bay, was charged with Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).
The driver was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on September 10, 2019.
The accused was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
This makes 33 Impaired Drivers charged by the North Bay OPP in 2019.
