Opinion: Remember pets in your will

I know this note seems grim, but just today I was reminded again that people do pass suddenly, without a will and without direction for their pets

“Everybody dies”

At any given time in your life you can pass. Whether it be a sudden accident, an acute illness or other. It’s real, we see this in our social media so often.

Many of us, under the age of 50 are just living life and having fun. We don’t really think of death. We concentrate on making a living and life for our families. Let’s face it, when we are young- nice things and our pets and children are mostly on our mind. Weekends we attend events, sports and family gatherings.

However, there are many people that did not have offspring and may not have many living family members left. They are alone.

Regardless of your age take the time to write a will!!

Or at least your wishes, where you would like your pets to go, how you would like to celebrate the end of your life. Would it be cremation or burial?

I know this note seems grim, but just today I was reminded again that people do pass suddenly, without a will and without direction for their pets.

Otherwise what happens is your friends and/or family are left guessing how you may have wanted things to be.

Take the time folks! It will make a difference in those you treasure one day.
