Temiskaming Shores will once again establish the Northern Ontario Mining Showcase (NOMS) pavilion at the 2023 Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Convention.

The Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario – FedNor will contribute $745,000.

PDAC is recognized as the World’s Premier Mineral Exploration and Mining Convention for people, governments, companies and organizations connected to mineral exploration. It has grown in size, stature and influence since it began in 1932 and today is the event of choice for the world’s mineral industry.

Spanning 13,200 square feet and featuring a jam-packed roster of 110 mining supply and services exhibitors from across northern Ontario, the pavilion will be one of the biggest attractions at PDAC 2023.

Led by the City of Temiskaming Shores, NOMS provides a unique opportunity for exhibitors to showcase northern Ontario innovation, including some of the latest in mining equipment, tools, products, services, and clean-tech. In 2023 alone, NOMS is expected to help participating businesses increase sales and exports by more than $10 million, while creating 75 high-quality jobs in northern Ontario and maintaining 100 more.

Taking place in Toronto from March 5-8, 2023, PDAC is the World’s Premier Mineral Exploration & Mining Convention and the leading event for people, companies and organizations connected to mineral exploration.  This annual convention is known for attracting up to 25,000 attendees from over 130 countries for its educational programming, networking events and outstanding business opportunities.

Since it began in 1932, the PDAC Convention has grown in size, stature and influence. Today, it is the event of choice for the world’s mineral industry hosting more than 1,100 exhibitors and 2,500 investors.

“The Northern Ontario Mining Showcase has become a mainstay at Canada’s premier mining expo," said Nipissing–Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota, "With results still coming in, last year alone this flagship initiative helped participating businesses increase sales by more than $8.5 million and create close to 80 new jobs in municipalities and Indigenous communities across our region. To help build on its impressive record of success, the FedNor-funded pavilion will once again be the biggest attraction at PDAC and a must-see for convention goers looking to generate new business contacts, clients and sales.”

“I’m proud the City of Temiskaming Shores will once again be leading the charge to ensure NOMS remains a major driving force behind jobs, growth and business success here at home and across Northern Ontario," added Jeff Laferriere, Mayor of Temiskaming Shores.
