North Bay Transit will begin operating on an enhanced schedule starting Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Hours of service during weekdays will be extended on all routes in the evening by up to two hours.

In the morning, the Junction and Birchaven/Trout Lake routes will be serviced by in-bound buses to allow for earlier runs on the main arteries.

The Junction route will start at 6:45 a.m. from the Ramada Pinewood Park Resort and will arrive at the Oak Street terminal at 6:50 a.m. The Birchaven route will start at 6:42 a.m. from Lavase Road at Hughes Road and will arrive at the terminal at 7 a.m.

No changes are being made to the current Saturday and Sunday service.

“Although we have seen some increase since the early days of the pandemic, ridership remains approximately 60 per cent below what it was prior to COVID-19,“ said Coun. Chris Mayne, Chair of Council’s Infrastructure and Operations Committee. “North Bay Transit will continue to monitor usage and will make future service adjustments as needed based on demand.”

A revised schedule will posted here on Friday, Oct. 9th.

Face coverings are mandatory on all city buses and COVID-19 protocols remain in place.
