A 34-year-old Brantford man has become the North Bay OPP's 11th impaired charge of the year.
The North Bay OPP received a traffic complaint about a vehicle that was travelling at a high rate of speed and driving all over the road, northbound on Highway 11, in the City of North Bay around 7 a.m. on April 2.
The OPP say officers located the vehicle on Seymour Street, in the City of North Bay.
The driver was arrested at the scene by officers.
As a result of the investigation, Christopher Fawbert, 34, of Brantford, was charged with the following:
- Dangerous operation
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Drive with hand-held communication device
- Drive motor vehicle with an open container of liquor
Fawbert was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on June 2 in North Bay.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the drivers' licence was subject to a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension.
This marks the eleventh driver charged under the criminal impaired driving laws in the North Bay Detachment area in 2020.
