North Bay OPP catch their 22nd impaired driver this year

On June 27, at approximately midnight, North Bay OPP officers stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 63, in North Bay.   

After speaking to the driver, officers requested that he provide a sample of breath into a roadside screening device, which resulted in a fail. The driver was brought to the North Bay Detachment for further testing.   

After police investigation, Alain Parisien, 37, of North Bay, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired by Alcohol and
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration - 80 Plus.  

Parisien was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.  

He has been released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on July 23.  

This is the 22nd impaired driver charged by the North Bay OPP in 2019.
