The Saturday, August 3rd walk will be guided by Fred Pinto and will focus on the beavers of Laurier Woods.

Pinto is the president of the Friends of Laurier Woods and an Adjunct Professor at Nipissing University.  He works with students to develop and test various hypotheses on factors that affect beavers.

The two-hour outing will start at 10 a.m. from the parking lot at the end of Brule Street. The hikes are offered at no charge and open to young and old alike. Hikers are reminded to wear appropriate footwear.

Laurier Woods Conservation Area, within the heart of the City of North Bay and adjacent to Home Depot, features a 12-kilometre trail network through significant wetlands and upland forest.
