Murder charge laid in human remains case

OPP have laid a murder charge against a man in connection with the finding of human remains in Elliot Lake last winter.

On February 14, East Algoma Detachment officers found human remains in a wooded that were those of a missing person, Joseph Topping, 31, from Elliot Lake. 

Then on February 26, a post-mortem examination was concluded causing investigators to classify the death of Topping, as a homicide.

On August 20, police arrested a man in relation to this case.

Brad Fabian Southwind, 23, of Elliot Lake, is charged with: first degree murder.
