On Saturday May 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Team TP plus Miss Heartbeat Nicole Renaud will be on location at FreshCo collecting toilet paper for the last time this year for the food banks in North Bay.

"We are just above half way of our goal of 20,000 rolls," spokeswoman Ellen Faulkner told BayToday.

Nicole Renaud, Miss Heartbeat, is originally from Kirkland Lake, but currently lives in Sturgeon Falls. She is an Early Childhood Education graduate from Canadore College, and currently studying for her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Studies at Nipissing University. She loves working with children and families, and loves making a difference and volunteering in the community of North Bay.

"I hope to pursue graduate studies in either family therapy, child and youth work, or social work," she stated.

The Miss Heartbeat pageant is a Heart and Stroke fundraiser.

"I have always had a passion for helping others, and being Miss Heartbeat, I have had the opportunity to volunteer with many organizations throughout my time, and have also raised $340 so far for the Heart and Stroke Foundation in North Bay," said Renaud. "Being Miss Heartbeat is so close to home to me, because the biggest problems that my family faces, are heart conditions and heart attacks, including my young sister who will be two in June. Being Miss Heartbeat means I’m a support and advocate, for not only my family, but for the region of North Bay."

Email [email protected]  if in need of a pick up or drop off at Fire Station 1 on Princess St or Davedi Club on Airport Rd. The toilet paper will be distributed Monday morning to the food banks.
