Colin and Vanessa MacWhirter, owners support youth through their McHappy Day proceeds. Today, they joined the leadership team for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit to see firsthand, the impact of their support says a news release.

“It was inspiring to return to a more ‘normal’ McHappy Day this year,” said Colin MacWhirter. “We have a real opportunity to make a big difference and we are grateful that our community came out in full force."

“McDonald’s donation to the CAMHU Wrap-Around Fund supports the transition of patients from hospital to home," said Erin Kennedy, Manager, CAMHU." It can be the most difficult time in a child’s recovery as routines and plans developed during their admission are disrupted, which can sometimes result in a child regressing in their treatment plan. This donation will help patients feel empowered and give them a sense of independence.”

“After these last two challenging years, people's willingness to support really demonstrates the resiliency of our community,” said Andrea Lucas, Vice President, Mental Health and Addictions, NBRHC.

“We are grateful to be included in the McHappy Day initiative” added Tammy Morison, President of the NBRHC Foundation.
