Maternal Mental Health awareness week is April 30th - May 5th.

Blossom Early Learning along with Restful Parenting, are hosting the “Breaking the Silence” event on Monday, April 30th from 1 to 2:30.

This is a FREE event to help build awareness, show support and reduce the stigma of postpartum mood disorders such as postpartum stress, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety and postpartum psychosis.

By wearing a BLUE DOT you are showing solidarity with others who have had postpartum mood struggles and/or that you are someone others can talk to about postpartum mood struggles says a news release.

Please come join us at Blossom Early Learning for information on:

  • Symptoms of maternal depression, stress, anxiety and psychosis
  • How and where to get help
  • How to support those that need help.

At the event, guests will be invited to decorate white paper masks to signify "removing the mask" from postpartum depression. There will be a visual "voting" activity where guests can show others that they are not alone. This voting activity is currently set up in the lobby at Blossom as a lead up to Maternal Mental Health week. There will also be blue dot stickers that guests can wear to show solidarity in maternal mental health.

This event is open to the public and children are welcome.
