Mapleridge Public School students support food bank

The food bank staff were thrilled to see their shelves overflowing with community donations

For the past several weeks, Mapleridge Public School in Powassan had been collecting their annual food bank donations.

In past years, the food bank was across the street, and students formed a human chain to deliver the food.

However the food bank moved into 250 Clark, the community hub of Powassan, this fall, and the logistics of delivery were changed.

Yesterday, the students piled the food in wagons, sleighs, and tote bags and walked it over to Clark Street and into the back of an emergency vehicle.

The grade eight students continued on across the street and helped sort the food at the new food bank office at 250 Clark.

The food bank staff were thrilled to see their shelves overflowing with community donations.
