Drinking then damaging police property apparently, don't mix.
On Thursday, January 17 at 10 p.m. Almaguin Highlands OPP were investigating a separate incident in Burk's Falls when they were approached on Ontario Street by an intoxicated man.
He was yelling and swearing at officers and was subsequently arrested for being intoxicated in a public place.
Officers brought him to the Almaguin Highlands Detachment where he became aggressive physically and verbally and was causing damage to police property.
Police charged Robert Trahan, 38 of Magnetawan with:
- Uttering threats,
- Mischief - interfere with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property under $5,000
- Causing a disturbance,
- Assault a peace officer with a weapon,
- Being intoxicated in public place,
- Possess unmarked cigarettes.
Trahan was released from police custody.
