Here's a couple of dudes you may want to avoid.

On June 1, 2017, shortly after 10 a.m., members from the East Algoma OPP were on regular patrol duties on Highway 17.

They saw an eastbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and so stopped it.

While speaking to the driver, the man could not produce a valid driver's licence. The driver was also on conditions not to communicate with his male and female passengers.

He was arrested and while being searched, police located a folding knife that was a prohibited weapon.

While police were trying to make arrangements for an alternate driver for the vehicle, police noticed the male passenger had brass knuckles attached to his belt.

Both men were arrested and the vehicle was towed.

As a result of the investigation, Gheorghe Bratu, 34, from Sault Ste. Marie, was charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon,
  • Driver Fail to Surrender Licence,
