Man uses broom in domestic assault

On Saturday, January 21st, shortly before 5 p.m., following an argument between a man and his former partner in a North Bay residence, the accused struck her with a broom and damaged property belonging to her.

The victim did not require medical attention.

On Saturday, following an investigation into a 9-1-1 call reporting the assault, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

A 35-year old North Bay man with:

  • One count of assault with a weapon;
  • One count of domestic mischief; and
  • Two counts of breach of recognizance.

The accused, whose name the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, was held in custody for a bail hearing.
