Long time local police officer passes

An avid motorcyclist, he was on motorcycle patrol with the city police and continued riding after retiring.

Longtime North Bay resident and police officer, Len Ross, died unexpectedly at the North Bay Regional Health Center on Saturday, June 22,

He was in his 75th year. 

Ross came to North Bay in 1963 as a member of the RCAF serving in the military police, according to his obituary.  He left the air force to become a constable with the OPP, then in 1967, he joined the North Bay City Police. 

He retired from policing in the late 1980s.

Len had many interests from martial arts to a life long love of movies.  An avid motorcyclist, he was on motorcycle patrol with the city police and continued riding after retiring.

He was also a gifted guitarist and writer.
