A logging truck that spilled its load, caused Highway 533 between Mattawa and Thorne to be partially closed in both directions Tuesday.

The accident happened on a corner near Timber Lake and closed access to that waterway also.

Acting Sgt. Shona Camirand told BayToday,"We received a call at 12:03 p.m. for a single motor vehicle collision.  A log truck rolled into the ditch."

The driver went to hospital in the ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

"The road was never closed but the tow company had flag people and may have had it closed for a short amount time while they got the vehicle out of the ditch.   All the logs were all in the ditch and not on the road."

"Actually surprised it doesn’t happen more often," said a cottage owner on the lake."Lots of transports use that highway and they tend to drive too fast for the curves, which there are a lot of. We hear the truckers using their Jake brakes on that section all the time."
