Local green Party selects new executive team

The Green Party of Canada’s (GPC) Nipissing-Timiskaming (N-T) Electoral District Association (EDA) have successfully wrapped up 2014 with their Annual General Meeting (AGM).
New executives have been elected by the Green membership. The new leadership will facilitate a new direction of growth in 2015 and focus on the upcoming Federal Election in 2015.
Fraser Mowat has been voted CEO of the GPC N-T EDA. Fraser is a founding member the GPC N-T EDA. He has witnessed gains by the Greens in the district since its inception in 2004.

Fraser Mowat hopes to build on the momentum from the 2011 federal election. Dr. Scott Daley, a former Green candidate received 2518 votes in 2011. He earned 6% of the popular vote. In the future, Fraser’s leadership will be instrumental in providing new direction for the Greens in the region.

Scott Haig is the Financial Agent of the GPC N-T EDA. Scott was the former 2011 provincial Green candidate for Nipissing, receiving 798 votes. Scott Haig will provide the newly elected executives with financial and political experience.

Nicole Peltier has been elected Communications Chair for the GPC N-T EDA. Nicole, also a former provincial Green candidate, earned 1198 votes for the Greens in Nipissing in 2014. Approximately 3.83% of the popular vote. As a new member of the GPC N-T EDA executive, she will continue to build positive relations with the community through the media.

Greg Brewer has been voted as Volunteer Chair. His dedication and energy will be essential in calling reconnecting and expanding the membership base of the Greens in the N-T district. Greg will be the personal link to all members.
Timothy Robertson was elected as Secretary. A position that he has held in the past and executed with precision. He continues to provide the membership with Minutes of the GPC N-T EDA.

Several Members-At-Large were also elected from the general membership.
The newly elected executives will focus on the Green Party values and the team will be searching for the next Green federal candidate is selected in the coming months. They will provide direction for the Green campaign in 2015 and continue to support the community.
