The Labour Market Group (LMG) has released their 2014 Local Labour Market Plan (LLMP) report for the districts of Nipissing and Parry Sound.
It is available for download on the Board’s website at www.thelabourmarketgroup.ca or by contacting the Board office.

“The Board is pleased to release its comprehensive 2014 LLMP” states Randy Brousseu, Chair of the Board. The 2014 Local Labour Market Plan focuses on the workforce development issues facing employers and job seekers in the region.

The report includes a 3 year plan of collaborative action where the board will work in partnership with community stakeholders to implement action strategies to the workforce development issues identified through the consultation process.

For the 2014 LLMP, LMG continued to gather, analyze and interpret local labour market indicators and other data including the most recent Household Survey information.

“Employment Income by Occupation, Occupations by Age Group and Labour Market Indicators such as Number of Employers and Change in Number of Employers by Size of Firm are only a few pieces that are included in this year’s report.” states Brousseau.

Employment Ontario datasets continue to be included to validate the local workforce characteristics and client outcomes in the local area. The datasets have also helped to identify existing gaps in service and have provided insight on how to better engage underrepresented groups.

LMG engaged employment and community service providers in a discussion of their information needs and used the aggregated Employment Ontario datasets provided by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to guide planning discussions with local service providers.

The results are provided in the report, summarize the discussions held with stakeholders and reflect key issues and questions
determined by the evidence.

The Labour Market Group is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and is part of the Employment Ontario Network.
