Knife used in domestic dispute

Police arrived moments later and the accused was arrested

On April 19 shortly after 2:30 p.m.Temiskaming OPP responded to a call about an assault on Probyn Street in Haileybury.

"The accused allegedly assaulted an ex-partner and when other persons intervened, the individual lunged at them with an edged weapon,"  said Constable Jennifer Smith in a news release.

Police arrived moments later and the accused was arrested.

A 23-year-old resident of Temiskaming Shores is charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm
  • Two counts of failing to comply with a probation order
  • Assault
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused was released by way of an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date, in Temiskaming Shores. 

The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victims.
