A lengthy investigation into allegations of municipal corruption and fraud has led to charges against a North Glengarry Township (east of Ottawa) resident.
The OPP received a complaint in 2017 from the township, in relation to the results of an internal audit conducted by the township. The allegations were of corruption and fraud by a then, township employee.
As a result of the investigation by members of the Anti-Rackets Branch the OPP has charged Sandra Cameron, 62 of North Glengarry Township with:
- Breach of trust
- Mischief to computer data
- Fraud over $5,000
- False statement
- Utter a forged document.
The OPP says it will not comment further in order to protect the integrity of the investigation and any ensuing court processes.
