Internal municipal audit finds corruption in North Glengarry Township

A lengthy investigation into allegations of municipal corruption and fraud has led to charges against a North Glengarry Township (east of Ottawa) resident.

The OPP received a complaint in 2017 from the township, in relation to the results of an internal audit conducted by the township. The allegations were of corruption and fraud by a then, township employee.

As a result of the investigation by members of the Anti-Rackets Branch the OPP has charged Sandra Cameron, 62 of North Glengarry Township with:

  • Breach of trust
  • Mischief to computer data
  • Fraud over $5,000
  • False statement
  • Utter a forged document.

The OPP says it will not comment further in order to protect the integrity of the investigation and any ensuing court processes.
