OPP ARREST ARMOUR TOWNSHIP MAN FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – On Thursday August 20, 2015 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling Armour Township when the officer stopped a driver for having a suspended drivers licence.  Further investigation revealed that the driver had in excess of 80 milligrams of alcohol and was arrested and charged with the following:
• Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
• Drive while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
• Two counts of driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act
The accused, Daniel KIDD, 56, of Armour Township was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge Ontario on September 24, 2015.

                        ALMAGUIN HIGHLANDS OPP INVESTIGATE
                                    THEFT FROM A GARDEN SHED

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a theft from a garden shed on Chewynd Road. 
Sometime between August 17, 2015 and Friday August 21, 2015 unknown person(s) broke into the garden shed and stole the following
• two boxes of vinyl flooring,
• four RVuteck windows
Mastercraft air compressor
Mastercraft garden shears
Yardworks lawnmower
Stihl chainsaw
Evinrude 9.9 outboard motor
The approximate value of the stolen property is $2,000.

                          OPP CHARGE NORTH YORK DRIVER FOR
                            EXCEEDING LEGAL LIMIT OF ALCOHOL

(PERRY TWP, ON) – On Saturday August 22, 2015 at approximately 8:00 p.m. the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling So-Ho-Mish Road when they stopped an off road vehicle, a dirt bike with two occupants.  Neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a helmet.

Further investigation revealed that the driver of the dirt bike had consumed alcohol and was subsequently arrested and charged for having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.  The driver was also charged with fail to wear proper helmet on motorcycle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused, Robert MORTON, 35, of North York was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge Ontario on September 24, 2015.

     OPP INVESTIGATE THEFT FROM ARMOURT TOWNSHIP SHED

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a theft from a Katrine Road, storage shed.  Sometime between Saturday August 15, 2015 and Saturday August 22, 2015 unknown person(s) entered the shed and stole the following:
• A table saw
• A miter saw
• Generator
• Grass cutter
The approximate value of the stolen property is $3,000.

SPEEDER CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF MARIHUANA AND COCAINE

(PERRY TWP, ON) – On Sunday August 23, 2015, at approximately 4:30 a.m. the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling Highway 11.  Officers stopped a north bound vehicle for travelling in excess of 150 kilometers per hour.  Further investigation revealed that the driver was suspended from driving, and a quantity of marihuana and cocaine was found inside the vehicle.

Charged are:

Wassin SOUEIDAN, 29, of Toronto with:
• Possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Possession of a schedule II substance – marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Race motor vehicle, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
• Driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

Habib SAAD, 21 of North York with:
• Possession of a scheduled I substance – cocaine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Possession of a schedule II substance – marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Mostafa SALEH, 21 of Toronto with:
• Possession of a scheduled I substance – cocaine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Possession of a schedule II substance – marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

A 20 year old Toronto man with:
• Possession of a scheduled I substance – cocaine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Possession of a schedule II substance – marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Two counts of Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code

All four accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge Ontario on September 24, 2015.
