Impaired by drug charges laid after man found smoking in his car

OPP say on Friday July 14, just after 2 a.m., officers found a vehicle on Forbes Road in Huntsville idling. 

Officers checked on the well-being of the driver and found that he had just smoked cannabis in the vehicle. 

As a result of the investigation James O'Donnell, 22 of North Bay, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule II drug and
  • Care and Control of a vehicle while impaired by drug 

O'Donnell will appear in court in Huntsville on August 16 to answer to his charges.

The 90-Day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension program was invoked and his vehicle impounded for a period of seven days.
