The Powassan & District Union Public Library and Union Gas joined forces on Tuesday, May 22, as part of Union Gas’ Helping Hands in Action Volunteer Grant Program.

Volunteers from Union Gas underwent a rapid training process to assist library staff in shelving hundreds of books which were previously in storage after a lengthy renovation. With the support of Union Gas’ volunteerism, the books are once again accessible to the community.

The Library was further supported by Union Gas assembling shelving within the building.

In addition to the hours spent working to support the library, Union Gas provided a $1,000 grant. The Powassan & District Union Public Library plans to purchase additional books, shelving and items to support the growth of the computer lab with this grant.
