Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for:

  • Burk's Falls - Bayfield Inlet,
  • Huntsville - Baysville,

Heavy showers are expected tonight into Friday.

Showers with isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop this evening over the area. The showers are then expected to become heavier through the overnight hours before tapering to scattered showers on Friday.

Total rainfall amounts are generally expected to be in the 20 to 40 mm range by Friday afternoon. There is a possibility that some areas will see multiple thunderstorms that could result in rainfall amounts of 60 mm or more.

North Bay will be cloudy with 70 per cent chance of showers. High 24.

This precipitation is the result of a moisture laden low pressure system that will track over Central Ontario Friday morning.

Heavy downpours can result in flash floods and water pooling on roads. Keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.
