News release: The North Bay and District Labour Council will be hosting the annual health and safety activist award banquet tomorrow (Tuesday)
The event will be held at the Best Western at 6:30 p.m..
The awards are presented by the workers health and safety centre each year to deserving workers to recognize joint health and safety committee members who have given exemplary service to their members.
“All workers are entitled to work in environments where risk to their health and safety are properly control,” says Henri Giroux, President of the North Bay and District Labour Council.
“It’s important to acknowledge and thank these dedicated workers for their efforts that often go beyond the call of duty,” said Giroux.
“Anything we can do to reduce deaths, injury and job related illness is well worth doing.”
The guest speaker is Dave Killham, Executive Director, Workers Health and Safety Centre.
