Gerald Whalen of Haileybury is celebrating after winning a $100,000 top prize with INSTANT CROSSWORD TRIPLER.
“I actually won in Manitoba with LOTTO 6/49 in the late 90’s – split $2.2 million with a group of 12,” shared the 72-year old retiree, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.
Whalen happened to purchase his winning INSTANT ticket on his birthday. “I went to the store to check some other tickets and won a couple dollars so I picked up an INSTANT CROSSWORD TRIPLER,” he smiled.
The father of two and grandfather of two has no specific plans yet. “It’s great. I feel very thankful.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Your Independent Grocer on Scott Street in New Liskeard.
