North Bay, ON – August 26, 2016 – Residents are invited to join North Bay City Council and staff at the 2017 Budget Open House, an event where residents can learn more about where their tax dollars go and provide feedback on spending priorities for 2017.

“Through the budget process, it is the goal of Council and staff to educate North Bay residents on how their tax dollars support City services, and have them provide input to ensure that our future planning reflects our community’s needs and priorities,” said Deputy Mayor Sheldon Forgette, Chair of General Government Committee.

The Open House will be held at City Hall on Thursday, September 8, 2016.

The evening will kick-off with a quick presentation in Council Chambers at 5 p.m. that will provide an overview of the services funded by the City’s budget and recap spending from 2016.  Following the presentation, Council and staff will be available in the Lobby at City Hall from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to answer questions about the City’s operations and budgets, and receive ideas from residents for 2017.

For those residents unable to attend the Open House, feedback and ideas can be submitted to2017Budget@cityofnorthbay.ca between September 8 and 13, 2016.
