North Bay, March 24th , 2015 – The Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord (CSCFN) would like to congratulate all students who will be recognized at the Evening of Applause which will be held on Wednesday, March 25th at École secondaire catholique Algonquin, at 6:30 PM. This yearly event, organized by the North Bay and District Multicultural Centre, honours students who demonstrate human values and who are exemplary leaders and role models in their school communities. This year, the following CSCFN students will be recognized as “Students Who Make a Difference”:  Brianne Vaillancourt - École secondaire catholique Franco-Cité (Sturgeon Falls)  Janelle Ouellet - École secondaire catholique Élisabeth-Bruyère (Mattawa)  Grace VanVliet - École secondaire catholique Algonquin (North Bay)  Carter Mayer - École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Anne (Mattawa)  Gabrielle Beaulne - École élémentaire catholique Saint-Thomas-d’Aquin (Astorville) The Multicultural Centre also organizes an anti-racism poster contest for the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (March 21st). The winners will also be recognized and will receive their prizes during this event. The following CSCFN student is the winner of the “Kindergarten to Grade 3” category:  Liliana Fox - École élémentaire catholique Saint-Joseph (Sturgeon Falls) “Apart from encouraging our students to be the leaders of tomorrow, we encourage them to be the leaders of today.” says Monique Ménard, Director of Education. “We are proud of our students who truly make a difference in their schools, in their communities and throughout the world. Congratulations to these exemplary citizens, these living models of values which are important in our Catholic system.”
