Michael Gravelle, Minister of Northern Development and Mines was in Parry Sound Wednesday to announce the government is making $1 million available through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation that will enable Kropf Industrial to construct a modern new production facility in Seguin Township, helping to expand the manufacturer’s global competitiveness.

The $1 million consists of 70 per cent loan and 30 per cent grant.

Kropf Industrial makes a broad range of equipment, including floating dock systems, hydraulic boat trailers, boat storage stands, and customized equipment for material handling and transportation.

This expansion made it possible for Kropf to address process flow, reduce environmental impacts and decrease production inefficiencies. This capital project also allowed Kropf to hire five new employees. The project includes building a 13,500-square-foot addition, along with a state-of-the-art sandblasting booth and a modern paint booth. These upgrades were made to enhance working conditions, decrease production costs and increase the company’s competitiveness.

“We are grateful for the provincial government’s generous financial support, which has helped our Kropf Industrial team reach an important goal to expand and reach more international markets," said Darin Kropf, President, Kropf Industrial Inc. "Our customer base has increased over the last several months, resulting in the opportunity to hire many more new employees.”
