The “First Tapping Ceremony” for the Powassan Maple Syrup Festival will be held on Saturday, March 10th, beginning at 1 pm at Matthews Maple Syrup, 239 Ski Hill Road, Powassan.
The Powassan Boy Scouts will be selling hot dogs, sausages on a bun and beverages. And, as is the tradition at Matthews, we will be offering taffy on ice, and weather permitting, there will be horse-drawn sleigh or wagon rides in the sugar bush.
These activities will also be offered daily during the week of March break, as Matthews officially opens for the season.
