Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for:
- Temagami,- New Liskeard
Wind chill values below -40 are expected over the region this morning.
It will also be very cold in the North Bay area. High today minus 10 but wind chill minus 32 this morning and minus 13 in the afternoon. Risk of frostbite.
Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.
Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with a wind chill.
Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks to warm up.
Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frostbite and hypothermia.
