A protest may cause motorists heading west some delays tomorrow. (Wednesday)

"Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., East Algoma OPP and Mississauga First Nation Police Service officers will be monitoring a peaceful demonstration involving members from the Mississauga First Nation community in a show of solidarity with the "Unisto'ot'en" (Heal the People, Heal the Land) homestead within the Wet'suwet'en Territory in British Columbia opposing a pipeline project in that province," said Constable Bev Gauthier.

The demonstration will take place at the junction of Highway 17 (Willie's Gas Bar) and Village Road and will involve a traffic slowdown in an effort to hand out literature.

The highway will be open to vehicles in both directions.

"Motorists are requested to use caution and slow speed when travelling in this area as there will be an increase in pedestrians," said Gauthier.
