DRIVING COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGES

News Release ***************** (NORTH BAY, ON)- On November 1, 2014, at approximately 9:50 p.m. , a member from the North Bay OPP detachment responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17, Beaucage Township.

(NORTH BAY, ON)-On November 1, 2014, at approximately 9:50 p.m., a member from the North Bay OPP detachment responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17, Beaucage Township. The vehicle in question was located and stopped by police.  As a result of an investigation the driver of the vehicle was charged.  Joseph PITRE, age 37, Wawa, Ontario, was charged with the following:

·         Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

·         Driving while Ability Impaired-Motor Vehicle, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

·         Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor, contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act.

·         Novice Driver- B.A.C. (Blood Alcohol Concentration) Above Zero, contrary to section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act.

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on November 18, 2014.
