A Guelph man turned himself in recently after fleeing the scene of a collision in the West Nipissing area last spring.

On June 5, members of the Warren and Noelville Detachments OPP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 575.

One of the vehicles involved was described as a green Mazda truck, which fled the scene. A description of the driver was obtained and a warrant sought for the driver.

On Dec. 27, a 20-year-old Guelph man turned himself in at the Noelville OPP detachment, identifying himself as the driver of the truck.

He was arrested and charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident, careless driving, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failing to disclose the particulars of insurance.

The man is scheduled to appear in court in West Nipissing Jan. 16.
