Driver clocked at over 115 km/hr in a posted 50 zone

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., East Algoma OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17, within Serpent River First Nation, where a westbound vehicle came up behind another vehicle very quickly and attempted to pass on the right shoulder.

Police caught the vehicle speeding through Blind River at over 115 km/hr in a posted 50 zone. 

As a result of the investigation, the male driver Delision Yogaratnam, 29, from Toronto, was charged with "Drive Motor Vehicle-Perform Stunt-Speeding by 50 or more km/hr."

The driver's vehicle was impounded for seven days and his licence suspended.
