Driver charged with failing to comply with a probation order

The officer conducted a traffic stop and after an investigation seized a small quantity of marijuana from the driver.

On Monday January 2, the Almaguin Highlands OPP were patrolling the Village of Burk’s Falls when they saw the driver of a vehicle not wearing a seat belt. 

The officer conducted a traffic stop and after an investigation seized a small quantity of marijuana from the driver.  Police arrested and charged the driver, Morgan Bosworth, 19 of Armour Township with the following offences:

• Fail to comply with probation order, 
• Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt, 
• Novice Driver – blood alcohol content above zero, 
• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor,

Bosworth was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday January 26, 2017 in Sundridge.

Meanwhile during the sixth week of the Festive R.I.D.E program (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) the Almaguin Highlands OPP checked approximately 310 vehicles.  As a result of these R.I.D.E. checks, one driver was given a three-day drivers licence suspension for registering a warning on the roadside screening device.
